The town hall building for the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena.

Today, I registered my car in Belize and paid for the year. I received my new license plates and a gentleman came out to take the Colorado plates off my car and replace them with my new Belize plates. It felt pretty final and it felt like a sort of baptism into a new born again Belizean sluffing off all things Colorado. I wanted to keep my Colorado plates, but that is not an option as they destroy them.

The new plates are pretty. My new twin towns are lovely too.

My emotions dove when I realized my past outward identity as a Coloradan disappeared while I now have my new outward Belizean one. Now my emotions are back to their more level place as I realize how final and yet how much of a new beginning I feel.
I have one more post to close out this chapter of ChapterEighty, about perceptions along the way and then I will start a new chapter. Learning Belize.
So will you now need a Belizean driver's license? ...... Caroline
