I have over thirty years of journals, not diaries, journals that I could not throw away so here they are with me in Belize. They sure took up lots of space and they are heavy! You are wondering what the difference might be?

With this definition, I guess mine are a hybrid, except each journal has gaps in entry dates and thus isn't a daily thing and they are often reflective.
All of March seemed devoted to me reading every one of these in Chronological order. I finished 'em just at the end of March. As I read, I consider what to do with them. First, I just read. Next I reflected on these thirty years or writing. Now, I am gleaning and discarding and organizing what seems fun, relevant and funny or profound. Don't worry dear reader, I will spare you the mauling and stupid parts.
I also realized, I stopped journaling once the digital age took over. I also only wrote when traveling both abroad as well as throughout the United States.
I plan to add some of the writings gleaned from memory jogs as I read through all of these.
I did add water colors and drawings as I felt more confident. These are two examples. You will have to wait for another installment.
